Electrical Services FAQs

Reviewed by: Charlie Windsor, Director

Do you provide domestic, commercial and industrial services?

Yes. CPW works across all three sectors, with the scope, safety arrangements, reporting and certification matched to the project.

Are you NICEIC approved?

Yes. CPW Electrical Solutions is a NICEIC Approved Contractor (registration number 607863000) and MCS certified (certificate number NIC602214). You can check our status on the NICEIC website.

Can you provide a fixed price from photographs?

Some straightforward work can be estimated from clear information, but many installations, faults and compliance works require a survey or testing visit. Any assumptions or exclusions should be stated in writing.

Do you carry out small jobs?

Yes, subject to location and availability. Describe the work clearly and include photographs so the enquiry can be assessed efficiently.

Can you repair faults identified by another electrician or report?

Yes, subject to inspection and confirmation of the findings. Send the report, photographs and address so the scope can be reviewed.

Do you issue certificates?

CPW provides the documentation applicable to the work completed and agreed scope. The type may include an Electrical Installation Certificate, Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate, EICR, PAT register, test report or commissioning record.

Can you work in occupied commercial buildings?

Potentially. The work must be planned around access, occupants, isolations, sensitive equipment, noise, permits and the client programme.

Can solar, battery and EV charging be planned together?

Yes. The electrical supply, metering, load profile, inverter or charger compatibility, cable routes and future plans should be considered together.

Can access control be linked to a fire alarm?

It can be designed to release where required, but the arrangement must follow the building fire strategy, escape requirements, door function and relevant system design.

What information should I send for a quotation?

Provide the address, contact details, description, photographs, drawings or reports, preferred timing and any access or shutdown restrictions.
